Good lord, if you knew how many cover letters and resume versions I've been through and sent out in the last... let's say 3 months... And how wide I've cast my net. Sigh...
I also have a different cover letter for everything I've applied to, but I try not to look at that sent pile too much. Having said that, I'm going to send out one more before class tonight.

You and I tweeted a back and forth a bit about the unemployment numbers being skewed and spun in order to paint the picture of something positive. Reports have been been biased and are forcing you to focus on the things that are "going right." And I agreed with you that more focus needs to be put on the ugly number - the GROWING number of people who REMAIN unemployed.

With that said, I've been through my period of unemployment and have suffered the emotional stress of not knowing what's coming next. I even gave up for a while and didn't look for a job for a few days because I couldn't stand the sight of my computer anymore. But I think the one thing that helped me turn everything around and that ultimately led me to my new job was my attitude. Once I turned that around and told myself, out loud, "I *will* have a job by the end of the year" and "I *want* to be employed," things started to shift. It sounds completely corny, but the first person you have to convince that jobs ARE out there is yourself.

Hang in there, Corinne! You WILL find something!

Don't believe the unemployment numbers - one of my friends gets laid off from her job EVERY YEAR but obviously she is counted in that *scary* stat. AND I too am part of those stats, even though I am voluntarily unemployed and currently not looking for work. But, in any case, glad to see you back.
