Why do I blog?

Or why do I have so many blogs? I blog because I write. I write so I can reread it at a later date, without worrying about losing paper copies. I blog because I journal. Because I am a diarist. Because I am obsessed with the internet.

I don’t worry what other people may think of what I write. I don’t write for those other readers. I occasionally care a smidge that no one is commenting on what I write… either because there is no opinion to be formed — or because most of my readers are friends. Friends who are lurkers. Not quite bloggers.

I don’t blog for the traffic (I don’t have that much). I don’t blog for the money (you should see my Adsense. Completely laughable. And insignificant.).

It’s like why I Twitter. Because I write. Because I talk. Because I want to know my voice is out there… regardless of who is listening or observing.

If a tree falls, and there’s no one around to listen to it — does it really make a noise?

I blog because of boredom, and some random friends who demand updates.
Nice to hear from you, and yes of course I remember you.
Going back to ‘bart for a wedding this summer, and Geneva gets to visit her namesake-town.

Oh, and out of curiosity… did you find me through my sister or vice-versa?
