The date was June 5, 2009. Going back through my archives, I remember admitting that I had a growing obsession with Miss Amanda Palmer in late February (post here).
3 months before I got to see this force of nature in person. Behind a crowd that was 5-7 people deep. My best friend and I showed up late (we thought), but we squeaked in (literally — place was PACKED) right before The Lisps started their set.
I’m still a bit shell shocked by everything. If I thought her stuff was fantastic before — witnessing it live, was just beyond words (yes, me the blogger, beyond words). However, it could also be because I am completely exhausted by the night. Er, weekend. But the rest of the weekend is another story. So… onto pictures (blurry — I don’t own a nifty dSLR, nor did I want to tote around a nifty/heavy dSLR — and someone dropped their lens on my foot) and a few vids. Then a totally random vid from AP, but not from Friday night.
This is what I get for losing my train of thought and getting up from the computer in the middle of a post.
Ampersand, first song of the night.
I should have taken a video here.
Intense.
Neil Gaiman faces off against a handful of Beth's birthday cake.
I was pleasantly surprised that she picked a DD song I actually KNEW… which made it so much sweeter (though, I was secretly hoping for ‘Coin-Operated Boy’). Here’s ‘Missed Me’.
Aaaaand. ‘Guitar Hero’ Or at least the last minute of it. I believe this is where I lost part of my voice. The rest crapped out during the ‘Oasis’ scream along. God, so much fun!
