Concert Outlook: dredg and amanda palmer

I can count the number of concerts I’ve been to in my life on one hand and 2 extra fingers. My first one was Bush with Veruca Salt opening back in 1997. Right during standardized test week. It was at MSG, and when I got the scores back several weeks later — all the tests I took the day after the show — had SIGNIFICANTLY lower scores than any of the other tests I took that week.

ANYWAY. Not my point.

For the first time in my entire life (and wow, do I sound like some lame dork right now), I’ll be going to more than one concert in one calendar year, and on top of that I’ll be seeing them within two months of each other! Squee! Both for artists I really really like.

#1 (tomorrow) - dredg

Last time I saw these fine fellows was back in 2005. A birthday/late graduation present for myself. So awesome, I nearly cried — if I weren’t nearly so inebriated.

#2 (June 5) - amanda palmer

The woman is hot. Her eyebrows are insanely beautiful. And she’s an amazing all around artist. And her stage wardrobe is pretty much to die for. And I went to college with her merch girl (strange bit of trivia there).

So basically, if you’ve never taken a listen to one of these artists, I suggest you do so now. Cause they’re awesome.
